CIO Africa Welcomes Commercial Director Aliza Thobani

CIO Africa has named Aliza Thobani Commercial Director, a new role in the organisation. Aliza will be responsible for sales, business development, marketing, product development and partnerships. She will use her passion for technology and marketing, leadership experience and a keen eye for detail to ensure CIO Africa delivers as it continues to expand its position as Africa’s leading IT advisory solutions provider.

Aliza is a commercial executive with deep expertise in marketing strategy, people management and business growth. She specialises in innovative and effective commercial solutions, aligning strategy with business priorities remarkably in the technology and telecom sectors.

Most recently, Aliza led the strategic operations for marketing, PR and corporate communication for East Africa at Internet Solutions. She has 12 years of experience in similar leadership positions at Liquid Intelligent Technologies, SevenSeas Technologies Group and Computech Limited.

Aliza earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the United States International University – Africa where she graduated with honours, and was elected Vice President of SAC.

She describes herself as “highly motivated, quality-focused, enthusiastic and self-driven” with high-level B2B, B2B2C and B2C sales environments. Her skills perfectly align with the company’s business priorities and initiatives. As a leader and a team player with strong business acumen, a results-oriented perspective as well as an analytical mind, Aliza is adept at problem-solving and resolution. She is a “Kenyan with global experience.” During her introduction to the team, Aliza stated that she “was looking forward to working with you all.”

When she isn’t shooting at the range, Aliza loves spending time with her husband and daughter.
